CardSmart Technologies, Inc. (CST) is a privately held software development company founded in 1999 by Mike McClain and Dave Fisher with a mission to be the premier provider of total solutions for secure identity management based applications, including credentialing, access control, cyber security, payment, loyalty/CRM marketing, and business information systems.
Michael McClain, President/Chief Executive Officer
Mike McClain has 30+ years of senior executive and information management experience with Fortune 100 companies in New York, such as RJR Nabisco and Colgate Palmolive, as well as ShopRite Supermarkets, and years as a successful entrepreneur. He has managed several well-known national consumer products, including Planters Nuts and Snacks and Colgate Toothpaste. In addition, he has significant experience in strategic planning, acquisitions, new products, and business development. As an entrepreneur, he has built three successful businesses centered on identity management solutions, software development, and identity card manufacturing. In the 1990’s, he owned and managed an innovative manufacturer of custom printed ID products with multiple operations in the U.S. These products are used by major organizations as varied as AT&T, IBM, American Express, American Red Cross, United Airlines, the USGA, and USPS. To CST he has brought extensive IT program/project management experience in the private sector and the Federal Government, including DHS, DoD, U.S. Navy, USMC, DIAC, BIMA/DFBA, and DOI.
McClain has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin and served in the U.S. military. He holds a DOD security clearance.
David Fisher, Chief Technology Officer
Dave Fisher has more than 25 years of engineering and management experience with the design and development of enterprise transaction management systems. Many of these are powered by advanced card technology and offer sophisticated back-end reporting/analysis, elastic databases, responsive Web front ends and mobile components. Fisher enjoys peer recognition as a leading expert in systems design, smart card technology and information security. He has authored and has pending several new technology patents. His extensive subject matter knowledge extends to many secure Federal Government large-scale enterprise systems and networks, leading edge implementations in identification systems, cyber security, mobile applications, Cloud infrastructure, inventory management, biometrics, access control and smart cards.
Fisher has significant experience creating global back-end systems to support transaction networks with millions of members, including identity management, CRM and payment gateways, credentialing systems, data warehouses, large networks for managing account/transaction data, and Web communication technologies for interacting with system operators and users. He has architected benchmark custom software for organizations as diverse as DARPA, FAA, U.S. Navy, USMC, DoD/DIAC, DHS, BIMA/DFBA, DOI, DOS, DOT, NIST, automobile dealerships and retailers.
Fisher is CISSP certified, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia, and has a DoD security clearance.
